چکیده
The productivity of arid region is much lower and resource degradation faster comparatively other ecosystem due to aberrant climatic conditions anthropogenic activities. Lower production in nutrient water holding capacity soil, erratic rainfall pattern inappropriate crop management practices. Therefore, present study was conducted with six planting techniques four practices split plot design replicated thrice, find outsuitable their influence on growth, pearl millet western Rajasthan. Results the showed that pit technique treatment PT6 noted taller plant over rest treatments during 2018 2019. Among various techniques, realized significantly higher relative growth rate(RGR) as compared ridge (PT2 PT3) direct seed sowing (PT1) also. However, PT4 recorded highest RGR 1.87 & 1.77 g g-1 day-1during 20 days after sowing/transplanting (DAS/DAT) 40 DAS/DAT 2.26 2.23 at harvest 2019, respectively, which registered edge all sowing/transplanting. Though PT2 PT3, computed rate (CGR) yet formerly both remained statistically par each other. Pearl planted by grain yield years. Moreover, parameters also increased increasing dose nutrients fromnutrient practice NMP1 practiceNMP3 control (NMP0). Highest height, (g m-1 day-1) different intervals yieldwere maximum NMP3, while minimum values above were observed no fertilization (NMP0) individual years

Agronomic and physiological responses of pearl millet ecotype (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) to saline irrigation
The objective of this study was to identify morphological and physiological traits for salinity tolerance in Tunisian autochthonous ZZ pearl millet ecotype (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br) under local conditions. ZZ ecotype was cultivated under different levels of salinity and growth parameters, water relations and mineral content were measured. Results showed that ZZ pearl millet ecotype was un...

Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) and napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) are the most economically important species in the genus Pennisetum. Knowledge of genetic diversity of these two species would enhance their potentials for utilization. The present work assessed the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship among Nigerian and Indian accessions of pearl millet an...
متن کاملTowards Defining Heterotic Gene Pools in Pearl Millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.]
Pearl millet is a climate resilient crop and one of the most widely grown millets worldwide. Heterotic hybrid development is one of the principal breeding objectives in pearl millet. In a maiden attempt to identify heterotic groups for grain yield, a total of 343 hybrid parental [maintainer (B-) and restorer (R-)] lines were genotyped with 88 polymorphic SSR markers. The SSRs generated a total ...

A simple, genotype-independent and efficient method for plant regeneration using shoot tip explants of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) was established. Linsmaier and Skoog (LS) medium supplemented with 2,4-dichloro-phenoxyacetic acid (2.5 mg l(-1)) and kinetin (0. 2 mg l(-1)) was used for induction of embryogenic calli. Development of numerous somatic embryos was observed within 10 days after...
